A two-sport athlete throughout high school, Kenneth spent most of his life in environments where success depended on trust, discipline, and teamwork. When that chapter ended, he missed the sense of purpose that came from working toward a common goal.

That changed during his first week as a Monteith Construction intern.
Stepping onto a job site confirmed that construction management was more than an academic interest. It was the career he wanted to pursue. At Monteith, he has found a new kind of team made up of experienced professionals eager to teach and peers learning alongside him.
His internship has included work on the Wilmington Health project, the restoration of historic Thalian Hall, and the transformation of Wilmington International Airport. Each experience has reinforced the importance of relationships, attention to detail, and doing the simple things well.

As a Wilmington native, Kenneth is proud to help build projects that will serve his community for generations. If you see him on a job site, introduce yourself. He’s usually smiling, eager to learn, quick to connect with others, and excited to be part of work that leaves a lasting impact.

Monteith Construction is one of the partners helping Schreiber students turn ambition into real experience. Stories like Kenneth’s don’t happen without a partner willing to open a job site, a classroom, or an office door and say, “come learn with us.”
If your company is interested in hosting a Schreiber student for an internship, we would love to talk. Reach out to to admin@campschreiber.org to learn what it looks like to bring a student like Kenneth onto your team.
