I had the chance to sit down recently with Chris Capone on the Fractional Podcast to talk about the work, where it comes from, and where it is going. We talked about my years in the classroom at Ashley High School, what I learned there about showing up consistently for kids, and how those lessons carried directly into what we are building at Schreiber. This naturally led into a discussion of our strategic parners and my work with The Endowment.
We also talked about the long game. Our boys join us in 7th grade and stay part of this brotherhood through college graduation and beyond. Real change takes time, and deep relationships, and a willingness to walk alongside our students and families throughout their journey.
And yes, we talked about the Fuzzy Needle. When I am not at Schreiber, I am there. Records, books, downtown Wilmington. For me community has never been just one thing. It is showing up in a lot of different rooms and fostering connections to the people around you.
If you have an hour, give it a listen. And if you know someone who should know about Camp Schreiber, please feel free to send it their way.
